Kalaprapurna Kanta Rao’s 101st birth anniversary celebrations were held today at the Film Chamber Hall under the auspices of the Bharat Cultural Academy Telugu Television Writers Association under the chairmanship of founder president Nagabala Suresh Kumar.
Retired IOS officer, Advisor to the Government, who was the chief guest of the program, Ramana Akshya said – “Kanta Rao, who excelled in the field of cinema along with NTE Nnars, did not get the recognition he deserved from the government. In terms of awards, NTE Nnars also got recognition late. Efforts are still being made to ensure that Kanta Rao gets due recognition on behalf of the government. It would be good to do it. As long as I was in the government, the contact with Kant Rao continued until the end.” Said.
Bhakta Prahlada child actress and former beauty star Roja Ramani said – “Not only was she acting as a child artist with Kanta Rao, but also as a heroine. It was a great and unforgettable connection”, she said and remembered her connection with Kanta Rao’s family.
Famous actress Kavitha said – “I am Kantha Rao’s adopted daughter, why he used to treat me as his own daughter. It is commendable that the Telugu Television Writers Association has taken the initiative of the film industry associations to do the program. We request Kantha Rao to get due recognition from the government and take steps to ensure that his family gets justice and his name lives on forever. I will discuss it with the leaders of the Telugu state governments,” he said.
Author Dr. K. V. Krishna Kumari said – Kantha Rao, a popular hero, will remain in the hearts of the audience as long as there is Telugu cinema. Both of us have a good experience with the Kantha Rao family, which are different professions.
Famous producer Rama Satyanarayana said – “Telugu film industry has completely ignored Kantha Rao. I will talk to the film bosses so that he gets proper respect.”
Kantha Rao’s daughter Sushila, son Raja, Prem Raj, President of Writers’ Association, Treasurer Chittaranjan, Organizing Secretary RDS Prakash, Akkineni Sridhar, KVYal Narasimha Rao, Prem Kamal and Swapna participated in this program.
